Writing Journal #2
Q.How does one learn to write? What is included in the “learning process” of writing? Where does your understanding of the “learning process” of writing come from and how might this differ from your peers’ understandings and the origins of those understandings?
A.Learning to write is a complicated process and it doesn't begin or end with a first year composition rather writing is a way of life.
Tell me one instance where writing is not present , writing is in all arenas of life , whether it's professional or academic level, writing is predominant everywhere.
According to the course outcomes writers should be aware of the following :
1.Rhetorical knowledge.
2.Critical thinking , reading &writing.
3.Process
4.Conventions
5.Composing in electronic environment.
According to Nathalie Singh Corcoran , "First year composition is not just the beginning of of a new writing awareness;it's write if a passage."
I personally believe that writing cannot be learned , everyone who read can write ,it's just upto us we master the art of writing.
I think writing goes in hand in hand with reading. To write well one has to read well and often too. This reminds me of a quote-
“If you don't have time to read, you don't have the time (or the tools) to write. Simple as that.”
― Stephen King
